The Department of Highways has accelerated the construction of the M6 Bang Pa-in - Nakhon Ratchasima expressway, completing it ahead of schedule. The entire route will be open for free trial use during the New Year period of 2026, from December 26, 2025 to January 5, 2026.

The Department of Highways has accelerated the construction of the M6 Bang Pa-in - Nakhon Ratchasima expressway to open for one-way trial use, specifically the Bang Pa-in - Pak Chong section. The completion is one week ahead of schedule, extending the free trial period for the public on the entire 196 km route during the New Year period of 2026. The original plan was December 30, 2025 – January 5, 2026 (7 days), but it will now be open from December 26, 2025 to January 5, 2026 (11 days).
For the “Bang Pa-in - Pak Chong” section, a distance of 110 km, the additional trial use will be “one-way” as follows: During the first 7 days of the festival, only the outbound direction from Bangkok will be open. The road will be open to traffic from December 26, 2025, at 00:01 to January 1, 2026, at 24:00. During the last four days of the festival, only the inbound direction to Bangkok will be open. The road will be open from January 2, 2026, at 06:00 to January 5, 2026, at 24:00 only.
The Bang Pa-in - Pak Chong section will have a temporary closure on January 2, 2026, to switch traffic directions before reopening to Bangkok. The Pak Chong - Nakhon Ratchasima section will be open to traffic in both directions, 24 hours a day, as usual.
